Description

Vini Calì Etna Bianco Fanciulla Etna Bianco DOC is a Sicilian wine that embodies the essence of the volcanic territory of Etna. Made from 80% Carricante , 15% Cataratto, and 5% Grillo , this white wine hails from the northern slopes of Etna in Sicily, Italy. With an alcohol content of 12.5%, it is an organic and artisanal wine, produced from grapes grown on sandy, volcanic soil. The grapes are hand-harvested in early October, ensuring the utmost care and selection of the bunches. The pressing is gentle, and fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature for 15 days in stainless steel, followed by aging for 8 months in stainless steel and at least 2 months in the bottle. This process gives the wine a unique freshness and complexity, ideal for pairing with fish and shellfish dishes. The recommended serving temperature is 8-10°C. The winery is certified organic.

Vini Calì

Our story begins three generations ago, when our grandfather bought a plot of land at the foot of Mount Etna. At the time, the land was considered prosperity, providing some of the basic needs of life: food, trade, and work. On the property, there was also a lava stone quarry, which with determination and grit, our grandfather manually carved to make the slabs (basole) used to create roads and paths throughout Sicily. The fertile part of the land was cultivated with hazelnut, chestnut, orchard, olive grove, and vineyard that provided food for the family and supplied the local markets. As children, we played on the land, joined our family in the harvesting activities, and the countryside was the place of many meals consumed together in joy. At the time all we knew was family, culture, and respect for tradition, for the land of Sicily and for the unpredictable volcano. What we didn't know was that these family values and our strong cultural heritage, together with the wealth that comes from the volcanic soil, would allow us to realize a dream... to produce unique wines in the world. Together, as a family, we have combined our heritage, passion, skills, and determination to create Vini Calì.
