Sabuci Cortese di Vittoria DOCG Classico Cortese Cerasuolo di Vittoria is a highly prized Sicilian wine, composed of 70% Nero d'Avola and 30% Frappato . Produced in the Vittoria region of Sicily, this Italian red wine boasts an alcohol content of 14.5%. It is an organic wine, grown on calcareous-clay soils that give the grapes unique characteristics. The grapes are fermented separately: the Nero d'Avola in individual open-bottomed barriques with frequent punching down, while the Frappato in 7hl terracotta amphorae. Cortese

Stefano and Marina Girelli, siblings from Trentino with three generations in the world of wine, fell in love with Sicily in 2001. In 2016, their passion and entrepreneurship led them to purchase the Cortese Agricultural Company, located in Vittoria, in the wonderful Ragusa hinterland. The vineyards and winery were in a state of semi-abandonment, despite the formidable spirit of the former owner, Mrs. Giovanna Cortese, who until the end, even against the inexorable passing of the seasons, personally took care of this little Sicilian jewel. Stefano soon realized that Sicily was an underrated wine region and that the potential to produce quality organic wines was enormous. A passionate supporter of organic and sustainable production, Stefano firmly believes, not only in the better results that this method brings to the glass, but lives this approach as a true philosophy of life, convinced that everyone should commit to protecting the environment and leaving a better world for future generations.
