The volcano and its terroir indeed present a significant heterogeneity, which makes each slope or area particularly suitable for one grape variety rather than another. Etna is over 3000 meters high: its slopes present substantial differences for viticultural activity, varying in exposure, temperature range, altitude, soil, brightness, rainfall, ventilation, influence of the sea, cultivation system. Benanti is the only Etna winery present on every side of the DOC. Typicality, elegance, character, longevity: this is what we seek.
