This red wine hails from the northern slopes of Mount Etna, an area renowned for its high-quality viticulture. With an alcohol content of 14.5%, Munjebel Rosso CR stands out for its artisanal profile and vegan-friendly production, without the addition of sulfites. Fermentation begins with a "pied-de-cuve" of only indigenous yeasts, in contact with the skins for approximately 50 days. The wine then ages in neutral fiberglass tanks, with capacities ranging from 1,500 to 2,500 liters, for a period of 18 months. After this refinement, the wine is bottled and left to age for an additional 18 months, thus developing a unique complexity and depth. Etna's volcanic soil lends the wine a distinctive minerality, which pairs perfectly with the intense flavors of red meats, game, and aged cheeses. Munjebel Rosso CR is ideally served between 14 and 18°C (57°F and 64°F), enhancing its aromatic notes and structured body. This wine embodies the essence of Sicilian winemaking tradition, with a focus on quality and authenticity. Perfect for those seeking a winemaking experience that reflects the terroir and a passion for artisanal viticulture. Description

Frank Cornelissen Munjebel Rosso CR is a Sicilian wine of great character, produced exclusively from Nerello Mascalese grapes.

Frank Cornelissen

Our agricultural philosophy is based on the principle that man is incapable of understanding Nature in its entirety, its complexity, and its interactions. We have chosen to observe in order to learn from the various energetic and cosmic changes of Mother Nature because we prefer to follow the indications that she gives us rather than deciding ourselves what to do and not to do. Consequently, this choice has led us to avoid, where possible, plowing the land and any other type of chemical, traditional, organic or biodynamic treatment. Accepting and following nature is our guideline, since the divine ability to understand the 'All' has not been clearly given to man, as we are only a part of this complexity and not God himself.
