Girolamo Russo Etna Bianco San Lorenzo is a Sicilian wine of great elegance and complexity, produced in the renowned Etna region. This Etna Bianco DOC is composed of 90% Carricante grapes, a native grape variety that best expresses the characteristics of the volcanic terroir, and 10% other native white grapes. The vineyards are located on the northern slope of Etna, an area particularly suited to the production of quality white wines. The wine has an alcohol content of 13%, offering a perfect balance between freshness and structure. Fermentation occurs with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel, followed by maceration on the skins for 13 days, a process that gives the wine greater aromatic complexity and a richer structure. The wine then ages for 20 months in French oak barriques, a process that adds notes of vanilla and spice, and is aged for at least 6 months in bottle before being released. The result is a white wine with great personality, with an aromatic bouquet ranging from floral notes to hints of white fruit, enriched with mineral nuances typical of volcanic soil. On the palate, Girolamo Russo Etna Bianco San Lorenzo stands out for its freshness and savory character, with a long and persistent finish. It pairs perfectly with appetizers, fish, crustaceans, molluscs, and seafood, enhancing the flavors of dishes without overpowering them. The ideal serving temperature is between 8 and 10°C (46°F and 50°F) to fully appreciate its sensory characteristics. This wine represents an excellent expression of the winemaking potential of Etna, a unique terroir due to its combination of altitude, climate, and volcanic soil.
