Description

Murgo Tenuta San Michele Etna Bianco DOC is a white wine produced in Sicily, specifically on the eastern slopes of Mount Etna. This wine is made from 60% Carricante and 40% Catarratto and other grapes. With an alcohol content of 12.5%, Tenuta San Michele Etna Bianco DOC is grown on volcanic sands, which give the wine a unique minerality. Vinification begins with destemming and cold maceration (5-8°C) in stainless steel vats for 15 hours, followed by soft pressing and static decantation for 1-2 days at 5-8°C in insulated tanks. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature (16-18°C) in stainless steel and French barriques. The wine then ages in stainless steel tanks and barriques (blonde toast) for a minimum of 7 months. After bottling, the wine is aged in the bottle for an additional 3 months before being released for sale. Tenuta San Michele Etna Bianco DOC is ideal with fish and cheese dishes, Catalan-style lobster, grilled grouper, and medium-aged Girgentana goat's cheese. The recommended serving temperature is 10-14°C (50-57°F) to best enhance its sensory characteristics. This wine represents a pinnacle of Sicilian winemaking, perfectly expressing the volcanic terroir of Etna.
