Description

Montenero Armonia Etna Rosso is a highly prestigious Sicilian wine, belonging to the Etna Rosso DOC denomination. This wine is made from 100% Nerello Mascalese grapes, grown on the northern slopes of Mount Etna in Sicily, Italy. The sandy, volcanic soil gives the wine a unique minerality and distinctive aromatic complexity. Vinification involves gentle pressing of the grapes, followed by maceration and fermentation at a temperature below 23.6 degrees Celsius, with continuous pumping over and decestages to ensure perfect extraction of aromatic compounds and tannins. The wine then undergoes malolactic fermentation in Slovenian oak barrels for six months, which contributes to its roundness and smoothness on the palate. Montenero Armonia Etna Rosso is an ideal wine to accompany red meats, aged cheeses, and game, thanks to its structure and complexity. The recommended serving temperature is between 14 and 18 degrees Celsius, to best enhance its organoleptic characteristics. The winery that produces this wine adheres to rigorous quality and sustainability standards, guaranteeing an excellent product that fully reflects the Etna region.

Montenero

Montenero was born on the slopes of Etna at 750 meters s.l.m. from the Bertino family who, being owners of a medium-small nerello mascalese farm, decided to embark on the path of winemakers, a decision quite appreciated by the eldest son, a person who has been following the activity for over a year. Bertino Francesco (grandfather of the current heir) began in 1955 by buying this vineyard for work purposes, he worked on it for almost 5 years in order to bring the vineyard into production and start marketing the product. The idea was quite good and profitable but given the little interest in regularizing the company, the company was never activated, something that fortunately changes with the arrival of the son Bertino Vincenzo who, dedicating himself to the fact, manages to regularize the situation and start producing in a fiscal and systematic way, resuming vineyards and regularizing products and achieving various brands over the years to further enhance the work done over the years.
