Description

Baglio di Pianetto ViaFrancia Rosso Sicilia DOC Riserva is a highly prestigious Sicilian wine, produced with Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes grown in Santa Cristina Gela. This red wine, hailing from Sicily, Italy, has an alcohol content of 14.5% and is certified organic. The vines grow in medium-textured soil, tending towards clay, rich in gravel and minerals. After careful manual selection of the grapes, fermentation takes place at controlled temperatures in steel tanks. The wine is then aged in steel for 9 months, followed by maturation in new and second-use French oak barriques for approximately 24 months. After this period, the selected barriques are transferred to steel tanks where they remain for an additional 6 months, until they reach perfect balance. This vinification process gives the wine a complex structure and a rich, varied aromatic bouquet. Baglio di Pianetto ViaFrancia Rosso Sicilia DOC Riserva pairs perfectly with game, aged cheeses, and meat-based sauces. It's ideal with red meats, game, and aged cheeses, served at 14-18°C.

Baglio di Pianetto

Baglio di Pianetto represents a dream that becomes reality: that of Count Paolo Marzotto who in 1997 founded the Company in Sicily, a land naturally suited to viticulture. We produce organic wines that enhance the unusually high altitude of the Pianetto Estate in the province of Palermo, through the savoir faire of the great French chateaux, a productive inspiration since the foundation. In Noto, at the Baroni Estate, we pursue a project dedicated to Nero d'Avola, which in Sicily finds its productive excellence precisely in that territory. The two Estates of Baglio di Pianetto are located at the two opposite corners of Sicily; altitudes and terroir diametrically opposed and distinct viticulture and winemaking techniques suitable for the diversity that unambiguously aim at the conservation of resources while minimizing the environmental impact.
