Girolamo Russo Nerina Etna Bianco is a Sicilian wine of great elegance and complexity. Produced in the renowned Etna area, this Etna Bianco DOC is composed of 75% Carricante grapes, while the remaining 25% is a blend of Catarratto , Minnella , Inzolia , Grecanico , and Coda di Volpe. The vineyards are located on the northern slope of Etna, an area particularly suited to the production of high-quality wines. The volcanic terroir gives the wine a unique minerality and unmistakable freshness. Fermentation takes place in barriques using indigenous yeasts, a process that enhances the varietal characteristics of the grapes. The wine then ages for 6 months in barriques and an additional 2 months in stainless steel, a process that contributes to the development of a complex and harmonious structure. On the palate, Girolamo Russo Nerina Etna Bianco presents notes of white fruit, citrus, and a subtle hint of aromatic herbs. The volcanic minerality is clearly perceptible, giving the wine a pleasant savory finish. It is a versatile wine, ideal for pairing with fish and white meat dishes. The recommended serving temperature is between 8 and 10°C, to fully appreciate all its aromatic and flavorful nuances. This wine represents a pinnacle of Sicilian viticulture, perfectly expressing the unique character of the Etna region.

Girolamo Russo

Making wine on Etna is an act of love, intimate and profound. And endless. Love for the places of our adulthood. Love for a land that nourishes and does not ask, that holds and does not let go and that makes everything grow that wants to stay. Harsh land of lava that does not calm down, land of magma that flows and opens and faints and tired seeks peace and becomes a stone monster and a lunar landscape that carries within it the memory of fire. We are made of the same substance as this land, we and that wine that resembles us, as if we had generated it, as if we were the fathers and not the sons: wine drunk with sun and light and the chorus of the wind in the valley, wine that has the breath of the volcano, smoke and ash together, and juicy and fragrant fruit that melts soft and surrendered, and slow and gentle caresses the senses, pregnant and delicate juice of pulp and lively and full, delight of aromas and intense and discreet scents, patient wine that lets itself be unveiled slowly and that the strong temper reserves for those who know that the time of the earth is sacred.
