The small Marrone farm was established in 1981 by Giuseppe Marrone, expanding his father's lands and growing it from about 5 hectares to 20 hectares with vineyards, olive groves, almond groves, arable lands and fruit tree groves and a wide variety of typical Sicilian plants. We have been following the organic method for about 20 years and the principles of biodynamic agriculture. The non-use of chemical substances is the greatest attention that the Marrone family pays to nature and to the human being. The lands are cultivated respecting the plants using organic fertilisers and green manure of legumes for an effective and organic nutrition, only natural pesticides such as sulphur and copper are used. Our lands are located in the Belìce valley. The native vineyards are: Nerello Mascalese, Catarratto and Zibibbo which line the banks of the Belìce river in the district ”Dorrasida” in the municipality of Montevago instead in the district” Donzelle “ in the municipality of Partanna we find ancient olive groves of the Nocellara del Belìce variety and finally a small almond grove of about 150 plants is located in the Vallesecco district always in the municipality of Partanna. From these places come organic wines with native characteristics of this specific territory, an oil with excellent organoleptic properties and a very low acidity equal to zero and almonds with a unique and unmistakable flavour. All crops are located in lands suitable for their characteristics to give the right balance to the plants and achieve an excellent final product.
