Description

Turi Eccellenze dell'Etna Turano Etna Rosso is a highly prestigious Sicilian wine, produced exclusively with Nerello Mascalese grapes. This Etna Rosso DOC comes from the northern slopes of Etna, an area renowned for its high-quality viticulture. With an alcohol content of 13.5%, this red wine embodies the essence of Sicilian winemaking tradition. Production is artisanal, respecting traditional methods that enhance the unique characteristics of the volcanic terroir. After fermentation, the wine is aged for eight months in cocciopesto amphorae, a material that allows for ideal micro-oxygenation, giving the wine a complex structure and a rich aromatic bouquet. On the palate, Turi Eccellenze dell'Etna Turano Etna Rosso presents notes of ripe red fruits, spices, and a light minerality, typical of volcanic soils. It is a wine that pairs perfectly with red meats and aged cheeses, enhancing the flavors and creating a harmonious balance. The ideal serving temperature is between 14 and 18°C, to allow the wine to fully express all its aromatic nuances. This Etna Rosso is a true tribute to Etna's winemaking tradition, a wine that recounts the history and passion of a unique land.

Turi Eccellenze dell'Etna

TURI is the name of the grandfather and the current namesake company owner Salvatore Licari. The business, which started in 1962, was initially aimed at the family's own consumption. Only later, with small plots of land adjacent to fruit trees, olive groves and vineyards, did the work extend to the market. The target becomes cross-sectional as Turi has an idea of reuse and begins to make charcoal with what remained of the cleaning of the trees and vegetation. This aspect of the work becomes so frequent and consolidated that it gives the creator the nickname of "Mangia Carbone" (Coal Eater). The use of nicknames is still very common, especially in the southern regions.
