Roberto Abbate

Everything started with the passion passed on to Roberto by his older brother Enzo, who, while attending the finance guard officers' school in Cuneo, met Giuseppe Rinaldi in the distant 1975 and became passionate about the world of wine, when Roberto was just two years old. The same passion was passed on to Roberto over the years, who expanded and enriched it until he started producing wine for home use since 2005. It is from there that he gradually self-taught grew oenologically until he began to produce wine from the grapes grown in Passopisciaro, a fraction of the Municipality of Castiglione di Sicilia (CT) in a centuries-old vineyard of about 80 - 100 years in Contrada Feudo di Mezzo, at an altitude of 650 m s.l.m., on the North side of Etna. There he meets Giuseppe Russo, one of the most important Etna producers, and, tasting some wines, Roberto is encouraged by Giuseppe and the oenologist Emiliano Falsini to create a label to seal the passion for the world of wine. Roberto, who comes from a family of citrus and olive oil producers and traders, continues, with dedication and passion, the work left by his father "Don Peppino" (to whom Roberto was very attached), selects natural citrus fruits for national consumption and produces extra virgin olive oil.
