Description
Terre Cuffaro
The Chiarelli Cuffaro Estate is located in Contrada Consorto in San Michele di Ganzaria. In 1860, the old family farmhouse was built, within a courtyard surrounded by the houses of the farmers. A witness to centuries of history, it was later restored and furnished in a rustic style pursuing the canons of elegance and refinement. The environment, dominated by the valley and the enchanting field of poppies, is animated by the sounds of nature and the suggestive beauty of Etna that appears in the distance. The 70-hectare estate is located on the edge of an ancient forest and hosts vineyards, olive groves, fig trees and crops of saffron, pistachios, almonds, rosemary and thyme. An open-air paradise in the heart of a fertile territory nourished by the warmth of the sun and the colors of unspoiled nature. Terre Cuffaro has increasingly invested in the direct management of the vineyards refining the cultivation techniques and production of high quality wines. The vineyard with a strong Mediterranean character, produces Chardonnay, Grillo, Merlot, Nero D’Avola, Petit Verdot, Traminer, Viognier and Tempranillo. Each type of wine presents precise and detailed oenological, chemical and organoleptic characteristics set in the production regulations. Like the Bianco di Pluzia with its straw-yellow color and elegant and delicate aroma or the Rosso Euno with its ruby/violet reflections and dry and harmonious flavor. In an enchanting atmosphere, the light that penetrates the crevices of the fertile earth and the particular pedoclimatic conditions, feed in respect of the environment the production of a wine with a Sicilian soul. Donato Lanati, a well-known Italian oenologist, has received numerous awards including the Oscar of wine in 2015. Thanks to the development of truly innovative scientific methods, he decided to give life to Enosis, the only independent research center in Italy that aims to guarantee high quality performance, respect for the environment, transparency and traceability of origin. Donato Lanati takes care of the vineyards of Terre Cuffaro refining the process, the production techniques and the organoleptic characteristics of the wine.
